I have already mentioned the Venus program, but this is another workout that may be worth considering. It’s called Bikini Body Workouts by Jen Ferruggia and I think there are a lot of women who have used it successfully to reduce their body fat level and improve their overall appearance.
Well, it’s time for me to re-boot this blog and to re-start my weight loss journey. Both have been kind of dormant for a while. I’ll share a little bit about what’s been going on with my life lately, but we’ll start with a review:
I lost a few pounds last year. I joined a gym and trained fairly regularly–about 3 to 4 times a week. I did start to notice a bit of a difference in that my clothes were fitting a little more loosely. I thought I’d be going down a size or two and be well on my way to a fitter body. Unfortunately these changes (the new habits, etc.) did not last.
I ended up losing my job and had to move back in with my parents for a while. No money for the gym, and plenty of home cooking. You can imagine where that went–the pounds went right back on. Don’t take this as a “woe is me” kind of post because I’m very thankful for my parents’ support. I’m grateful to have a place to go when life takes a downhill turn.
I eventually found a new job with decent pay and was able to move into my own place again. Not long after that I was able to re-activate my gym membership. So I started training and trying to get back in shape again.
But I haven’t really been getting the results that I expected. I talked to one of my friends at the gym and she recommended I check out the Venus Factor system. It was pretty affordable (much less than what a personal trainer would charge) so I decided to order it. So far I’ve been very impressed.
One thing I’ve realized after ordering the material: I haven’t really been watching my diet the way I need to. I’m not talking about starving myself–I mean planning meals, eating more protein, watching my overall caloric intake, etc. The Venus Factor comes with a calculator that has helped me with this.
The workouts are really good, too. Before I didn’t really know what I was doing as far as training goes. Now I have a step-by-step guide for what I should be doing every time I go to the gym.
One final thing that is helping me is the forum membership (it comes with the program). I’ve really enjoyed getting support from other women who are going through the same journey.
I think I’ve finally found something that will help me. If you’d like to check out this review it’s a good one. I’m not saying this is the only way to lose weight but it’s working for me. Just remember that any program you follow is going to require some serious changes on your part. John Barban has put together a great plan but I’m the one who has to follow it day by day.
In the end I believe it will be worth it. I’m ready to see a new me.
